Shakshuka sauce
Zee’s love in a jar Shakshuka sauce is a traditional North African recipe passed down to her from her Moroccan grandmother.
Bursting with rich, strong flavours of slow-cooked tomatoes, chillies, garlic, capsicum and blended spices, it is traditionally served with eggs as a breakfast specialty. Zee’s Shakshuka journeyed across the world and is now savoured as a pasta and pizza sauce, a tantalising addition to meat, fish and veggies, or as a healthy dip straight from the jar!
How to make Shakshuka eggs?
Zee’s sharing her Grandmother Zoharas The best Shakshuka eggs recipe.
What you need:
1 Zee’s Love In a Jar Shakshuka sauce
8 eggs
Instructions:
For four people (food always tastes better shared)
1. Heat a jar of Zee’s Love in a Jar Shakshuka sauce in a pan.
While the sauce is bubbling, play your favourite music and dance like nobody’s watching
2. Stop simmer time, crack 8 eggs on top of the sauce, cover with a lid and keep on dancing. Like your eggs soft? Cook for 5 minutes. Harder? Add a few more minutes.
Zee recommends adding spinach, feta or plant-based cheese and “Zee’s love in a jar” preserved lemon. Eat with fresh bread soaked in butter or olive oil.
3. Try enjoying it straight out of the pan using bread as your spoon. Less mess = More dancing.
Enjoy, lovers!
